Job Description

The Wisconsin HOPE Lab is the nation’s first laboratory for translational research aimed at improving equitable outcomes in postsecondary education. Our goal is to help policymakers and practitioners (a) accurately state the costs of attending college, (b) ensure that families and students understand these costs, and (c) find effective ways to cover these costs that enhance degree completion rates as well as the personal and societal benefits of postsecondary education.

The Lab is currently seeking 1-2 hourly undergraduate students who are interested in joining a large, multi-site social sciences research team.  The position will provide support for a longitudinal study on undergraduate college student time use.  Duties involve cleaning and coding open-ended survey data collected via text messages, as well as participating in regular team meetings.

Anticipated start date: June 26th

Qualified candidates should have an interest in quantitative data collection or data analysis.  Candidates should be personally motivated, detail-orientated, self-managed; responsible in meeting deadlines and ensuring progress without direct supervision. Experience working on an education or social sciences research study is preferred, but not required.  Students who are proficient in STATA are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter describing their research or related experience to Wisconsin HOPE Lab Associate Director Alison Bowman at
