Description:

The Center for the Improvement of Mentoring Experiences in Research (CIMER) seeks a student for assistance with administrative tasks, logistics, and database maintenance. You will find this position rewarding if you enjoy performing a wide variety of tasks, from detail-oriented formatting and database projects, to external communications for planning and logistics. Showing initiative and follow-through on projects is extremely important. This would be an excellent position for a student interested in education research, research mentoring, or higher education administration.

Pay is $12/hour. Preference will be given to candidates who can work 15-20 hours/week. The hours are flexible, but must be performed Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Duties:

  • Formatting curricula and updating website
  • Maintaining contact relationship database and data entry
  • Working with Wiscal and Outlook calendaring systems to arrange meetings with faculty and staff inside and outside of UW Madison
  • Arranging logistics for CIMER meetings
  • Assist with CIMER travel logistics and reimbursement
  • Formatting survey questions in various survey tools
  • Assisting with website improvements
  • Assisting with correspondence
  • Assist with webinar and face-to-face training logistics
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word & Excel and Outlook. Ability to work with existing templates and styles.
  • Keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with relational databases
  • Ability to quickly learn new software
  • Excellent communications skills for communicating with faculty and UW staff
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
