Description:

The Wisconsin HOPE Lab is the nation’s first laboratory for translational research aimed at improving equitable outcomes in postsecondary education. Our goal is to help policymakers and practitioners (a) accurately state the costs of attending college, (b) ensure that families and students understand these costs, and (c) find effective ways to cover these costs that enhance degree completion rates as well as the personal and societal benefits of postsecondary education.

The Lab is currently seeking a senior-level project assistant to support a set of ongoing program evaluations around college access and success. The incumbent will be expected to develop a dataset from incoming administrative and program data and lead the analysis and report-writing processes for both projects, with guidance from the Wisconsin HOPE Lab research team.
Qualified candidates must have taken at least two courses in statistics, with proven application on a research project and Stata literacy. Candidates should be personally motivated, detail-orientated, self-managed; responsible in meeting deadlines and ensuring progress without direct supervision. Experience working on a college access or success project is preferred but not necessary.

This 50% project assistantship (approximately 20 hours per week) is open to current UW-Madison graduate students and will run from September 1, 2017 through May 31, 2018 with the possibility of renewal pending additional grant support.

How to apply:
Interested candidates should submit a CV and cover letter to Wisconsin HOPE Lab at wihopelab@wcer.wisc.edu by April 30th. Questions can be addressed to Jed Richardson at jed.richardson@wisc.edu or 608.890.2946.
